ReThink Success

I’m up and running!! It is amazing how easy it was to set this website up and get it going. It will probably change a little in format and functionality as I get used to the software and find new tricks. Eventually, I’d like to add a few more pages to the site—such as a forum and a library.

The purpose of this website (or blog) is to examine what it means to be successful. This means a lot of different things to different people, I know. After lying awake in bed late at night recently, thinking about what success means, I decided to explore the issue by trying to write about it. To be honest with you, I hate to write because it is time consuming and just plain painful. However, I have found that it helps in working-out the logic in issues (so is it the writing or the exploration of logic that is time consuming and painful?). To keep me motivated, I decided to explore the issue of success in a blog to make the process more interactive and interesting. I don’t want the website to be completely about me, so I’ll probably try to solicit some sort of feedback. As I mentioned above, I’ll probably add a forum page to the website to allow folks to comment on what success means to them. I’m not a success guru or aspire to be a preachy, motivational type. Hopefully, the website will evolve to become more about the visitors to the website and what their interests and experiences have been than it is about me. Can you tell I don’t like talking about myself?!

However, this website won’t be a one-trick pony. I have several interests, ranging from environmental issues to finding the perfect mixed drink and I’ll most likely blog about it. I might even blog about the fact that it took me several hours just to find a domain name because all the good ones were taken (damn squatters!!). Feel free to leave your comments if there is anything in particular you’d like me to write about or see differently on the website. And by the way, what does success mean to you? Cheers!
